More From The Downtown Shoot

This shot has a lot going on.  There is shadow and light, shapes and patterns, man made materials and a little greenery.  I was shooting when the sun was high and harsh but you can always find ways to use this contrasting light to advantage.

You Can Always Go Downtown

Love nature but love to shoot other things too.  Downtown can be interesting and I recently spent a couple of hours walking the streets looking, looking, and shooting.  My camera equipment was the Canon 50D and the Canon 70-200 2.8 IS lens.  I came away with lots of tight shots of details and patterns.

Say Hello to Mara

This is Mara, our Golden Retriever.  She is a great picture subject and we have hundreds of pictures of her.  Sometimes, she will even let us dress her up for one.  For now, all her images reside in our hard drives but perhaps I’ll try a book or calendar soon.

River High Installed at the University of North Florida

River High, our seven piece panel art, was recently installed at the UNF library.  This installation is part of the library’s art legacy program.  For this location, the desired overall height of the seven panels was eleven feet.  This required considerable upsizing of the original photographic files and I did not like the results.  My solution was to go to Corel Painter to produce the final product.  I spent about 25 hours painting the panel files in Corel.  The upsized Corel files looked good in the computer and printed out beautifully on canvas.  The panels were then gallery wrapped and installed on the brick wall with secure hardware.

Earl waves as he goes by.

Waves cast off by Hurricane Earl rolled onto the Jacksonville shore last Thursday.  I went to Hanna Park to photograph the surf and got the added bonus of good surfers and good light.
